The fall Texas turkey hunting season is right around the corner, and here is a breakdown of the dates and locations that you’ll need to know.
The fall Rio Grande turkey season is divided into three different segments: Archery Only, Youth Only, and the regular Fall Season.
Archery Only Fall Turkey Season – Oct. 3 – Nov. 6, 2015
The Archery Only season is available in all counties with an open fall season.
Youth Only Fall Turkey Season
The fall Youth-Only season is basically a one weekend season, with the exception of the North Zone that has an extra two weeks in January 2016:
North Zone (123 counties): Oct. 31 – Nov. 1 and Jan. 4 – Jan. 17
South Zone (26 counties): Oct. 31 – Nov. 1
Brooks, Kenedy, Kleberg, and Willacy counties: Oct. 31 – Nov. 1
Regular Fall Turkey Season
The regular fall season is divided into three zones with the same start date but different ending dates.
North Zone (123 counties): Nov. 7 – Jan. 3, 2016
South Zone (26 counties): Nov. 7 – Jan. 17, 2016
Brooks, Kenedy, Kleberg, and Willacy counties: Nov. 7 – Feb. 28, 2016

Remember, an Upland Game Bird Stamp is required to hunt turkeys in Texas, which you can buy anywhere hunting licenses are sold.
