The TPWD Big Time Texas Hunts is open, and you have until October 15 to enter. This year, there are nine different premium hunting packages on private ranches and public wildlife areas that you can enter to win. Each online entry costs $9. All of the hunts include food and lodging, guide service, and on-site transportation – so it’s a helluva deal if you win one. This year’s hunts include:
This hunting package of a lifetime includes four big-game hunts: desert mule deer, desert bighorn sheep, white-tailed deer, and pronghorn antelope. The package includes food and lodging, taxidermy, and a professional guide on all hunts. Hunt locations include Griffen Ranch in the Panhandle, and Elephant Mountain WMA, Black Gap WMA, Sierra Diablo WMA, Meyers Spring Ranch, and Double H Ranch, in West Texas.
This hunt will be the first to take place in the new Yoakum Dunes WMA in the Panhandle and will take place over four days during the rut with professional guides. One hunting guest is also included.
The Caiman Ranch in South Texas brush country will be the location of this year’s hunt for a trophy white-tailed buck, which includes one hunting guest.
This year six winners will experience a three-to-five day hunting trip on Chaparral WMA in South Texas, Gene Howe Management Area in the Panhandle, Bartush Land and Cattle Company in Northeast Texas, or The Big Woods on the Trinity in East Texas. Food and lodging, professional guides, and one guest are included.
One lucky hunter will win a trip to hunt the Mason Mountain WMA for exotic game including sable antelope, gemsbok, oryx, and axis deer. The winner will be able to harvest two management exotics, and one hunting guest can harvest one. Three-to-four days of food and lodging, professional guides, and two shoulder mounts are included in this spectacular hunt.
One winner and a guest will have the opportunity to harvest one trophy alligator on a three-day hunt at the J.D. Murphee WMA on the Texas Gulf Coast.
A winner and three guests will hunt excellent Texas coastal prairies and marshes on a series of three different trips for snows, blues, and white-fronted geese and ducks, as well as wood ducks and mallards.
Three different game bird hunting trips are included in this hunt for a winner and three guests for dove and quail, and with one guest for a spring turkey hunt. Hunts will take place on the Black Creek River Ranch in South Texas and the Matador WMA in the Panhandle, as well as along the coast near the Anahuac Wildlife Refuge.
One winner and three guests will hunt free-range wild hogs at The Big Woods on the Trinity and enjoy five-star lodging and meals at a premier hunting lodge.
Any of these hunts would be an amazing experience, and the proceeds of the entry fees support Texas wildlife conservation, habitat management, and public hunting programs. So browse the hunts, and get your entries in today. Life’s short. Hunt big.
